I initially thought he wanted people who love his music to switch to Tidal. In the long run I don't see how this really benefits Jay. Which is an opinion that I could respect, but not before he heard Reasonable Doubt or The Blueprint. My roommate actually said to me he listened to some Jay stuff and thinks he's one of the most overrated rappers ever. But lately I've been getting them more and more into listening to some classics like Slum Village, The Roots, Outkast, Nas, Tribe, Gang Starr and so on.īut with Jay-Z they pretty much only know his radio singles and the stuff that's on streaming platforms (which is in no way bad, but not what I would show to people to introduce them to Jay). Totally agree! So many of my friends are Hip-Hop fans but not really interested in older music (anything before like 2007 basically).
